Kayak Guide Training
This course runs over 5 days and comprises of: 2 days of paddling skills training; 2 days of river running, leadership and decision making; 1 day of Rescue Skills training (which counts as one day of the Rescue 3 Unit 1 Technician)
The course in run in the Scottish highlands using excellent White Water Rivers.
Elements of the Course include.
Positive paddling, Making the lines, River running strategies, Safety and protection of Rapids, Risk Assessment, Water Hydrology, River Hazards, Rope Rescue Systems, Anchors, Ropes in water, Moving around in water, Equipment, Rescue techniques, Leading a group, Planning a trip.
The students will be signed off for the skills which they are proficient in using a skills sheet which is then used as evidence of training to give to employers and to aid you development.
For those wanting to guide professionally we run a two day assessment and your training course report and end of course feedback will give inform you of what is required and when you should consider going for the assessment.
We can run follow up training and course for people wanting to guide internationally.
This course cost £395 including (£495 with self catering accommodation.)
